About

About
The bachelor’s degree in accounting is one of the programs offered in the faculty. Accounting is a stimulating and challenging task that involves collecting, measuring, recording, analyzing, and communicating financial information within businesses and other organizations. Processes such as auditing financial records, classifying, interpreting, and preparing reports are used to assist investors and managers in decision making.

The bachelor’s degree in accounting is designed for students with a particular interest in accounting and related subjects. Students acquire a sufficient variety and depth of knowledge to start careers in accountancy, business or in the financial services sector, or to continue their education at postgraduate level. Globalization, complexity, and ever-increasing competition have meant that the global demand for qualified accountants has never been higher. Accountants are at the center of every organization and the work they do has become increasingly complex and diverse, offering great opportunities for accounting graduates.

Values

The values of the department are the preservation and expansion of an accounting culture. Our goals are to extend our own horizons through research at the highest level; to support the propagation and exploitation of accounting ideas through publications and by reaching out to the public; to train our students, graduate and undergraduate, in the practice of accounting; and to educate them in the ways of accounting thinking. By these means, and by teaching those who will themselves carry forward our mission, we seek to extend the benefits of understanding accounting. Students grasp the fundamental business disciplines required to communicate across diverse business fields and the ability to identify and control risk, through leadership and problem solving skills and strong communication and team building skills.
