Mission

To educate students in the preparation of a suitable treatment plan for partial tooth loss and to train them in the preparation of the provision of fixed dental prosthesis.

Objectives

  • To educate and train students in administering local anesthesia for different dental and oral surgery procedures
  • Introduce students to the basic principles and techniques in oral and maxillofacial surgery
  • Enable students to have intellectual and clinical skills in basic, complicated exodontias, and in minor oral surgical procedures, based on an outpatient clientele
  • Educate students in the basic principles of sterilization, disinfection, and antisepsis
  • Allow students to gain clinical experience in the physical examination of patients who require minor oral surgery procedures
  • Educate students in basic life support and the management of medical emergencies in dental practice
  • To educate students in the principles of conscious sedation and general anesthesia
  • Familiarize students with the procedures most commonly provided by oral and maxillofacial surgeons
  • Educate students on medico-legal implications, the appropriate use of professional ethics, attitudes, communication, and problem solving skills.
