The study of insurance can play a significant role in achieving the general goals through provide the background information needed to understand the types of problems that can arise from the individual`s or firm`s exposure to loss, and how these problems may be approached and solved and to familiarize the students with the technical words used by risk management and insurance. In addition, this course describes some aspects of insurance policies and contracts.

This course is a study of the basic principles of sound risk management including risk identification and evaluation. Insurance as a risk management tool, its nature, applicable laws, and analysis of policies are included.
