FUTURE UNIVERSITY LOGO

The logo is composed of a wordmark “the University's name” in addition to a symbol. Its design is distinct and has a unique character. The use of standard fonts cannot accurately produce a replica of the letters and for this reason PRMD requests that either electronic files, or print-ready artwork, be used and PRMD will provide this.

The symbol in the new logo is based on FUE's mission and vision. As illustrated on the adjacent page, the University logo may only be used in a specified format. Used consistently, it will serve to promote the identity of the University and act as a visual expression of the University’s values.

FUE s old logo was produced by the architect who designed and built the University campus. The logo was an image of the building with some lines added to it. The end result was a corruption of the design which included, for example, unnecessary spacing, and an unjustified use of two different styles of curved lines in its symbol. Moreover, because the symbol used was that of the campus buildings in Egypt, it was found that if the University were to open branches in other countries, the logo design will have to differ from one university branch to the other.

THE HISTORY OF THE LOGO’S SYMBOL

  • Logo Design

Designed by a draftsman in 2006, the first FUE logo comprised three different style of fonts and the image of a building, which resembled the architectural design of the University’s Administrative Building.

With the development and growth of FUE, there was a pressing need to redesign the logo. It became adamant that changes be made to the logo to ensure that it accurately reflected the University’s development. More importantly, the Board of Trustees’ decision to open other branches of the University in other countries accentuated the need to revise the logo which at the time fell short of meeting the branding requirements of the branches located outside Egypt. The initial change was to sub-brand our logo and avoid the unjustified use of different fonts. However, an advertising agency was recruited to address the logo issue. Further changes were made which included the continued use of the three fonts in the logo.

  • Logo Design

In 2012, the problem of the three fonts was resolved and the color was also agreed. However that too did not meet the aspired branding standards.

  • Logo Design

In 2013, both a blazon and new logo were designed. Special attention was paid to the blazon, the purpose of which was to acquire purpose and meaning. The University mission was clearly reflected in the symbols on the blazon of the logo, with the book representing education and the University’s commitment to produce graduates qualified to compete in the career market.

THE NEW BLAZON

  • Logo Design

    1. The symbol of the shield shape stands for protection, i.e. protecting our students and guarding them against the hardships of life by preparing them for the future that lies ahead of them.

    2. The symbol of the book signifies knowledge, which corresponds to the University's mission of providing our students with a valuable learning experience.

    3. The symbol of the gear cog wheel represents work and production, which corresponds to the University's vision of our graduates becoming responsible, productive members of our society.

    4. The symbol of the three columns resembles the columns topped by the squares found in our main campus in Egypt, represent the care and concern the University has for our students even after they graduate.

ACCEPTED LOGO FORMATS, THE MAIN BRAND

There are various accepted formats for the logo, both horizontal and vertical, to fit different design layouts. These formats may be used in print and electronic reproductions and can be used in a variety of ways: as a vertical logo, a horizontal logo stacked, a horizontal logo, a simple horizontal word mark, a vertical stacked logo, and a faculty-paired logo. The faculty-paired logo was designed to permit faculties to promote their name in association with the University’s identify.
