Membership in Restorative Dentistry (MRD)

What is the MRD?

A prestigious speciality degree offered by one of the most reputable educational colleges in medicine and dentistry, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
It includes three specialities which are:
• Endodontics (Membership in Endodontics)
• Periodontics (Membership in Periodontics)
• Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics (Membership in Prosthodontics)

How could the certificate be awarded?

Several requirements are needed to be awarded the Membership in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh including:
• Three years supervised clinical training in the three sub-specialities
• Submission of Four Case Reports to the Royal College Examination Board
• Final examination in different aspects of restorative dentistry by the Royal College Examiners

The Speciality Training program

A three year (Full Time) Clinical Post-graduate Speciality Training Program held under the supervision of reputable University Professors and a number of Dental Professionals, who hold a variety of degrees from the Royal College of Surgeons.
During the training you will acquire broad clinical experience and knowledge in all aspects of Restorative Dentistry, treatment planning, communication with patients and a phased approach to treatment with the use of advanced equipments.

• Principles of History Taking, Clinical Examination and Diagnosis
• Treatment Planning and Record Keeping
• Preservative Philosophy, Risk/Benefit Equation and the Restorative Staircase
• Radiographic selection criteria

Program Details

Starting date: October of each year
• 3 years (6 semesters)
• 5 days a week (Sunday to Thursday)
• From 9:00am to 4:00pm

Am I eligible for the Training Program?

Applicants should :
• Hold a BSc Degree in Dentistry
• Complete their Internship Training
• Pass the interview held by the Program Director

Diploma in Implant Dentistry

What is (D Imp Dent)?

In the Era of Implant Dentistry the Royal College of Surgeons has provided the Diploma in implant Dentistry to evaluate and set standards for the practice of implants worldwide
How could the certificate be awarded?
Several requirements are needed for the Diploma to be awarded including:
• Basic to Advanced Training in Dental Implants
• Submission of Four Case Reports to the Royal College Examination Board
• Log Book
• At least one Audit Cycle
• Passing the final examination in different aspects of implant dentistry by the Royal College Examiners

The Training program

Part Time Training in Dental Implants (clinical and theoretical)
During the Training you will acquire broad experience and knowledge in Basic and Advanced Implant Dentistry.
Clinical Training and Lectures are given by Pioneers in Maxillo-Facial Surgery, Periodontics and Prosthodontics and a number of Dental Professionals, who hold a variety of degrees from the Royal College of Surgeons
 The Trainers will guide you to fulfil the requirements needed to apply for the examination and on completion of the training the candidate will be able to:
• Define and carefully execute the most suitable treatment for the patient
• Carry out procedures required to augment deficient sites
• Carry out Surgical and Restorative aspects of Implant therapy (basic and advanced)
• Monitor and Maintain the treatment that has been completed for the patient Other Benefits
• Membership of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI)
• A total of 270 credit hours certified by FUE
• Reaching the educational standards and clinical skills needed for passing the Diploma in Implant Dentistry-RCSEd examination

Suturing techniques, flap designs and grafts Different impression techniques Prosthetic options Mini-implants (insertion + overdenture fabrication)

Clinical Training

Four months of the course are dedicated for implant surgeries done by the candidates under direct supervision

Residents in Egypt: 6 Months (once a week) From 10:00am to 4:00pm

Starting date: October & Febrary of each year Fees: • Egyptians: 15.000 EGP   • Non-Egyptians: 3.500 US Dollars • 4 Free implants + 4 abutments
