SGS 111 Physics   (Credit Hours 3)        
This course builds on the basic physics theory. Major topics include: Electricity, heat, properties of matter, gravitation, fluids. surface tension, surface tension moment of inertia elasticity optics and practical  physics which include forty experiments related to the above topics. SGS 121 General and Physical Chemistry (Credit Hours 4)
Overall aim of the Course is to help the students understand the role of general and physical chemistry in our daily life, to help the students identify salts on the bases of their physical properties and their relative solubility in water, to help the students identify inorganic salts on the basis of their general properties, the electronic structure, and the position of the constituting metals in the periodic table, to help the students understand the relationship between structures and properties. SGS 131 Botany (Credit Hours 3)
Overall aim of this course is to provide the basic knowledge needed for botany science, identify the plant cell structure, raise awareness of the students to plant cell physiology, explore the system of classification of plants. , familiarize the students with the general characteristics of microorganisms, introduce students to the fundamentals of molecular genetics, and prepare students for heredity diseases in advanced levels. SGS 141 General Zoology (Credit Hours 3)
Overall aim of Course is to give the students a basic knowledge about animal kingdom regarding most of aspect related to zoology, preparing them to the study of the more advanced courses as human anatomy, physiology and anatomy.  No Pre-Request.

HPT111 Human Dentition (Credit Hours 3)
Aim of this course is to promote advanced knowledge about dental anatomy and physiology, to provide expanded knowledge about human dentition.to serve as a basis for understanding the clinical courses. Major Topics include: Introduction about the oral cavity and the dentition of human being tooth anatomy, line and point angles, tooth identification systems, anatomical landmarks of the crowns, life history of tooth surface anatomy of permanent anterior teeth ,surface anatomy of premolar geometric outlines of the crowns and their significance. SGS 142 General Zoology (Credit Hours 3)

HPT112 Human Dentition (Credit Hours 3)
Overall aim of course is to promote advanced knowledge about dental anatomy and physiology.,to provide expanded knowledge about human dentition,to serve as a basis for understanding the clinical courses.Major topics include : surface anatomy of deciduous teeth surface anatomy of permanent molars, condition of teeth at different ages, mandible at different ages physiology significance of tooth form in protecting the peridontium and arrangement of teeth in curves, normal occlusion. SGS 132: Botany (Credit Hours 3)

Overall aim of this course is to keep pace with recent advances in oral biology,

Overall aim of this course is to present the basic properties of dental materials as they are related to clinical manipulation by the dentist and to bridge the gap between the knowledge obtained in the basic course in materials science, chemistry, and physics and the dental operatory. SGS 251: General Histology (Credit Hours 3)
Overall aim of this course is to teach the students the basic histology structures of different cells and tissues of human body, preparing them for studying organs and systems in the second term & second year and making correlation between function and structure of various tissues and their clinical significance. SGS 261 Dental Biochemistry (Credit Hours 3)
Overall  aim of this Course is to enable the studentto be oriented with the biochemical structure and importance of  macronutrients and macronutrients as well as the structure and functions of enzymes, to illustrate and/or describe the metabolic pathway of macronutrients and nucleotides and to point-out hereditary and acquired metabolic disturbances and their biochemical laboratory and clinical outcomes. SGS 262Dental Biochemistry (Credit Hours 3)
The overall aim of this course is to enable the student to point out  the bioenergetics of the concerned metabolic pathways under different physiological circumstances and their integrator regulations with other working metabolic pathways ,to enable the student to describe major body fluids composition and their clinical impact and to enable the student to interpret medical laboratory reports .Major topics include : General Protein Metabolism, Dental genetics, Metabolic Integration,Large Intestine & Detoxification, Vitamins, Minerals, Body Fluids Cell Organelle and Tooth composition. Overall aim of course is to study anatomy of different parts of the face/maxillofacial , its function , and the common pathological diseases affecting each part. HPT 332 : Oral Pathology(Credit Hours 3)
The overall aim of this course is to study anatomy of different parts of the oral & paraoral area (or oral & maxillofacial region) , its function , and the common pathological diseases affecting each part. CONS 321: Preclinical Operative Dentistry (Credit Hours 3)
Overall aim of course is to educate the students about the basics of fundamental principles of cavity preparation ,to teach the students the classification and types of lesions affecting the tooth structure and to enable the students to recognize and use the different cutting instruments. CONS 322: Preclinical Operative Dentistry (Credit Hours 3)
Overall aim of this Course is to educate the students about the basics of proper use and manipulation of the various restorative dental materials, to teach the students the new approach of conservative cavity designs and to enable the students to master the indirect restorative techniques. This course is designed to familiarize the students with instruments materials and laboratory procedures and techniques used for removable prosthodontics. Major topics include: steps of complete denture construction, anatomy and physiology, impression trays and techniques, retention and stability relief and posterior palatal seal, TMJ and mandibular movements, jaw relation record, occlusion blocks , mandibular movements face bow, articulators , selection of artificial teeth arrangement , artificial balanced occlusion , waxing up and processing remounting of dentures, repair, relining and rebasing. This course is designed to familiarize the students with instruments , materials and laboratory procedures and techniques used for removable partial  prosthodontics.

The overall aim of this course is to familiarize students with the basic disease patterns and their underlying and mechanisms within the specific organ system as step to preparing the student for his future work as a dentist. SGS391 Microbiology and Immunology (Credit Hours 2)
The overall aim of this course is to provide the basic knowledge about microorganisms especially those causing diseases relevant to dentistry. and to enable the students to understand the infection control measures in order to protect themselves and their patients from cross infection or contaminations. and to provide the basic knowledge about the immunity as well as the possible consequences of  failure of immune system .  Overall aim of course is to enable the student to understand principles of caries control and management, to enable the student to be familiar with the available restorative material and their selection, and to enable the student to apply the gained information about the available restorative materials clinically. CONS 433 Endodontics Technology (Credit Hours 2)
Overall aim of course is to appreciate the full scope of endodontics, be  familiar with disease and conditions involving the pulpal and periradicular tissues in permanent teeth, understand the possible etiology of disease and conditions involving the pulpal and periradicular tissues in permanent teeth and be familiar with instruments and materials used in conventional endodontic treatment. CONS 434 Endodontics Technology (Credit Hours 2)
Overall aim of course is to develop appropriate axis cavity preparation, intra-radicular cleaning and shaping and obturation of extracted human permanent teeth using recent endodontic systems to critically evaluate student level of competency. MPDR 411 Periodontology (Credit Hours 3)
Overall aim of course is to foster knowledge that governs the principle of periodontal diseases, to provide opportunities for review and analysis of a wide range of patients periodontal conditions, to expand students analytical skills relative to clinical signs and symptoms and treatment of periodontal diseases and to apply and predict the knowledge obtained for the appropriate management of periodontal health. Major topics include: Histology, classification, etiology and Pathogenesis of periodontal diseases.,diagnosis and prognosis of periodontal diseases and  periodontal diseases.

MPDR 412 Periodontology (Credit Hours 3)
Overall aim of course is to foster knowledge that governs the principle of oro-dental diseases, to provide opportunities for review and analysis of a wide range of patients chief complaints, to expand students analytical skills relative to clinical signs and symptoms and adjunctive special investigations of oro-dental diseases and to apply and predict the knowledge obtained for the appropriate diagnosis of oro-dental diseases. MPDR 431 Oral Diagnosis (Credit Hours 3)
Overall aim of course is to foster knowledge that governs the principle of oro-dental diseases, to provide opportunities for review and analysis of a wide range of patients chief complaints, to expand students analytical skills relative to clinical signs and symptoms and adjunctive special investigations of oro-dental diseases and to apply and predict the knowledge obtained for the appropriate diagnosis of oro-dental diseases. ORP 431 Orthodontics (Credit Hours 2)
Overall aim of course is to educate the students about the basics features of facial growth and development and to familiarize students with progressing abnormalities in dental patients, to familiarize the student with the knowledge of occlusion and to be able to manage the etiological factors associated with the disordered occlusion and to enable the students to diagnose orthodontic problems. Major topics include: Growth and development of the head , development of normal occlusion, etiology of malocclusion, terminology and classification of  malocclusion ,diagnostic procedures ,biomechanical principle and tissue changes in orthodontics. ORP 432 Orthodontics (Credit Hours 2)

SGS 411 General Medicine (Credit Hours 3)
Overall aim of course is to support acquisition of knowledge and understanding of health and its promotion, and of disease, its prevention and management, in the context of patient with dental problem, to enable the student to acquire and become proficient in basic clinical symptoms and signs such as obtaining a patient's history, pulse , blood pressure and other basic signs. SGS 412 General Medicine (Credit Hours 3)
 Overall aim of course is to enable the students to acquire and demonstrate attitude necessary for the achievement of high standards of medical practice , both in relation to the provision of care of individuals and populations and to his or her personal development including a lifelong commitment to continuing medical education and to introduce concepts of disease of the skin and venereal disease of interest to the dental field. SGS 421 General Surgery & Ophthalmology & E.N.T (Credit Hours 3)                                    
Overall aim of course is to Study anatomy of different parts of the eye , its function , and the common pathological diseases affecting each part ,Study anatomy of cavernous sinus and Study relationship between the ophthalmic work and dental work as regards cataract and glaucoma surgeries and identification of preoperative role of the dentist. SGS 422 General Surgery & Ophthalmology & E.N.T (Credit Hours 3)                                    
Overall aim of course is to study the relationship between dental septic foci and ocular infections with emphasis on how to prevention and treatment and Introduce the dental students to the basic principles of general surgery and to educate them the surgical concepts related to their specialty Major topics include: specific surgical infections ,gas gangrene ,diseases of salivary glands ,accident and emergency surgery ( maxillofacial injuries )congenital anomalies  of the face ( cleft lip and palate ) ,gas gangrene and congenital anomalies of the ear , pigmented , and vascular lesions.

 MPDR 431: Oral Radiology (Credit Hours 3)                                    
Overall aim of course is to provide the students with basic information related to X-ray nature, production, equipments and materials used in the process of radiography and to demonstrate and train students to perform all intra oral radiographic examination and to enable the students to interpret radiographic images used in the dental profession and to appreciate safety procedures to avoid hazards.  Major topics include: physics of radiation, principles of image production and processing dental radiography equipments and intra and extra-oral techniques, common pitfalls and artifacts, panoramic radiography and radiographic interpretation in carious, periodontal lesions in various dental anomalies   and traumatic injuries.  Pre-Request:  Preclinical stage.

CONS 515 Clinical Restorative Dentistry (Credit Hours 3)
Overall aim of course is to enable the upcoming practicing dentists to expand their skills and knowledge through the available subjects that include: conservative approach, esthetic considerations, none carious lesions, failure of restorations andtheir repair, bonding to tooth tissues and indirect esthetic restorations.
 Major topics include conservative approach in restorative dentistry, esthetic considerations in operative dentistry, bonding to tooth tissues and indirect esthetic restorations.

CONS 516 Clinical Restorative Dentistry (Credit Hours 3)
In this final course the curriculum is tailored to match specific subjects that are the core to the continual improvement of operative dentistry.
