Course Description

The paramount aim of each course led by Prof. Ahmed Abdel Rahman Hashem is to enable the participants to perform endodontic treatments with predictable clinical success without complications. Through the understanding of endodontic principles using new instruments and techniques along with the revolutionary changes. Participants include fresh graduates, dentist and/or endodontist.

Learning Outcomes

The scientific lectures include the following topics:

Identify different parts of the surgical microscope and its mechanism of action.
Perform a proper access cavity preparation.
Identify extra canals and how to locate them using ultrasonics (specially mb2 and mm).
Understand the Dental Microscopy Ergonomics and getting acquainted with the operator's different positions.
Learn the tricks by using manual and rotary approach during cleaning and shaping and how to judge canal cleanliness.
Learn the easy way to change the method of obturation from lateral to vertical compaction and thermo plasticized techniques.

The workshops include the following topics:

Cavity preparation and its modifications by ultrasonics
Mechanical preparation using different rotary systems
Thermoplasticized obturation techniques
Open discussion with a live case demonstration (on patient) in the clinic performed by Prof. Ahmed Abdel Rahman Hashem.

Extra (upon request): Participant will perform single visit root canal treatment on a patient using microscope in the clinic.
