The fruits of this research will benefit both the University and the pharmaceutical industry. This effort translates into quality pharmaceutical products with better outcomes for those needing the drugs. Therefore, FUE has initiated the construction of an “Educational state-of-the art pharmaceutical ‘factory’”, the first to be built by any private or government university. The factory produces solid, semi-solid, and liquid pharmaceuticals in accordance with international quality control standards. It provides students with education as well as hands on experience and training intended to expose them to the different stages of the production process. The R&D unit develops new potentials and collaborates with pharmaceutical companies to share knowledge and develop solutions for today’s production issues. The factory also commercially produces generic drugs to serve university students, staff, clinics, and the community within the University district. The factory comprises different departments for the production of solid, semi-solid, and liquid pharmaceuticals and is furnished with advanced equipment for their production in accordance with international standards. It also contains a quality control laboratory complete with state of the art analytical and quality testing equipment.Major objectives:To develop students that are educated according to the latest ILO’s.Provide opportunities for training, learning and apply all theoretical backgrounds to pharmacy students.Having an R&D unit that will develop new potencies and help to solve any production problems for pharmaceutical companies.Produce limited generics to serve university students, out-patients visiting dentistry clinics, and the community living within the vicinity of the University.
