Prof Essam Abdel-Sattar was born in 1957, and graduated from Faculty of pharmacy, Cairo University in 1979. He finished his PhD in 1990 (Munster, Germany). In 2000, he got a JSPS post doctor fellowship, Inst. of Nat Med, Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University, Japan. In 2003, he promoted to professor and now he is the director of Pharmacognosy Department since 2012.
He published more than 100 research articles in the field of chemistry and biology of medicinal plants. He attended more than 40 conferences or workshops and granted and shared in 24 projects in and outside Egypt.
