Course Description

This course will focus on helping participants achieve an understanding of general concepts of the Business Process. Major frameworks of Computerized Management Information Systems (MIS) are presented and real business cases are introduced illustrating important topics of the course and demonstrating relevance to the current practice of MIS.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, the participant will be able to:

  • Discuss the use of Information Systems in business today
  • Identify the types of Management Information Systems
  • Implement a decision-making process
  • State the need for computerized support in managerial decision-making
  • Exhibit the types of Business Process
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Business Intelligence and concept (Data Mining).
  • Identify group decision support systems
  • Gain skills in business awareness, design and consultancy to facilitate the alignment of IT systems and services to business objectives
  • Demonstrate an understanding of theoretical principles in business systems analysis and design
  • Use technical skills through practical laboratory work to enable you to apply your knowledge of IT and how it affects business competitiveness
