Course Description

This course focuses on the relation between the global economy and international relations. Case studies regarding the relations between some international financial organizations and least developed countries (LDCs) are covered. One notable case study can be the relation between the IMF and/or the World Bank and Egypt.

By the end of the course, the participant will be able to:

Identify and assess the main trends and issues in the global political economy
Effectively explain key ideas, concepts, events, and developments shaping the global political economy from an applied perspective
Discuss how markets, firms and governments interact in the context of different national or regional environments and cultures
