Qaherat Al-Moez Festival
Bringing back the chronicles of Fatimid Cairo, its historical handcrafts and folkloric music, Student Life Department is holding the Annual Qaherat Al-Moez Festival from 12th to 16th of March 2017 on FUE campus.
The event simulates the atmosphere and entourage of Fatimid Cairo, Soor al Azbakiyya, and Egyptian folkloric food & beverages.
The festival starts with a Tannoora and folkloric performances. Along with various fine art workshops (i.e., ceramics, sculptures, accessories, caricature, portraits, painting and El-Khayyamia patchwork, mosaic and photography). Art Exhibitions and bazaars displaying students’ artistic products and handcrafts. Soor al Azbakiyya exhibition includes old as well as latest books of history, science and literature; it also displays old stamps collections, publications dated back to 1940s.
Poetic debates are held along with 5-days oriental music performance, Suffi Art performance by Amer Al Tooni, monologues, and students’ singing show.
The festival is an opportunity to professionals of fine art, handcrafts, and students to show off their talents and products in a praiseful atmosphere of creativity and originality.
The event starts at 10 am to 4 pm from 12th to 16th of March 2017.
