The English Language Centre (ELC) is a service department that provides language instruction to students from the six faculties at FUE. As English is the medium of instruction in all the faculties, the ELC strives to ensure that the students have a level of language proficiency that enables them to perform within an academic environment and compete in the global workforce.

The ELC also serves the community by providing English language training and professional development opportunities to a diverse range of audiences through its International Exams Unit (IEU). Because of its expertise, the ELC is responsible for developing and managing the English language programmes offered at the Department of Continuing Education (DCE) at FUE.

English language programmes include Academic and General English language courses and English language exam preparation courses. Our professional development programmes include internationally recognized certificates such as Cambridge CELTA, Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) and DELTA Module 1. The ELC also administers international English proficiency tests, e.g. (CEPT, IELTS and OET).
