Summer School Program that will be taking place from 14th till 25th of August 2017.
The academic journey will also involve visits to hospitals and community pharmacy as well as cultural and social events.

Only top 40 students among applicants fulﬁlling the selection criteria will have the chance to participate in the summer program at UCC.Throughout the trip, students will be chaperoned by two FUE professional staff.Upon completion of the program, students will receive a certiﬁcate of completion from UCC.About UCC’s Summer School Program:The Program is designed to offer candidates with the know-how that gives them an edge in developing their "professional experience" with a curriculum covering Communication skills, cardiovascular disease and patient counselling, Student clinical experience – review of patient / patient Kardex / patient medical notes, Research skills – reading a research paper, Diabetes, Respiratory disease and The role of the pharmacist in the multidisciplinary team.Classes are held from Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.A full detailed schedule is available with the application form at the faculty secretory ofﬁce.The selection criteria will be announced by the assigned committee for selection at due date.The UCC's Summer School Program will also include a historic and cultural tour of the University, an organized visit to a tourist destination on Saturday 13th and another tourist destination in the Cork region on Sunday 14th.There will also be a complimentary welcome dinner and a farewell dinner.Cost:The program costs:€1000 for students in 3rd level in academic year 2016/2017€1200 for students in 4th and 5th levels in academic year 2016/2017This cost includes:Teaching of the Summer School ProgramHospital and community pharmacy visitsAirport transfersAccommodation on campus in Victoria Lodge apartments: https://www.ucc.ie/en/campusaccom/student-accomm/victorialodge/Social / cultural activities mentioned aboveAnd does not include:Food & beverageVisa issuance feesFlight ticketsInternational medical insuranceEligibilityLevel 3, 4 and 5 students (academic year 2016/2017)English proﬁciency is a mustA Valid PassportApplication form should be submitted before the due datePersonal interview.For male students military exemption or postponing is a necessityTo ApplyContact Dr. Azza Ahmed after ﬁlling the application form (available at the secretory ofﬁce) before March 20th 2017 application deadline.

Clinical & PharmacyPractice Courses for Summer TrainingSummer School Program:As an effectuation step to FUE's academic enhancement and activating the Continuing Education of the Pharmacy Graduate and /or Senior Students, the faculty organizes this course starting 12th of August, 2017 for two weeks.The course will involve the following topics: I. Cardiovascular disorders: a. Dyslipidemia b. Hypertension c. Angina d. Heart failure & stroke II. Respiratory disorders: a. Asthma b. COPD c. Inhalation technique III. Diabetes IV. Viral hepatitis V. Soft skills: a. Communication skills b. Patient counselingCost The course costs “LE 2500” that includes: Teaching of the Modules Training with Practitioners Coffee Breaks Eligibility Graduates will be given a certificate as well as a detailed certified content. Level 4 and 5 Students (will be counted as part of the summer training hours, rubric and log book will be filled for students upon their request). This is besides the above mentioned certificates.
