In Alliance with Universities in the Region, Future University Signs the AIEG Declaration on Integrity
October 2011
Future University is in full agreement with the Declaration on Integrity and has signed along with other Universities in the region to participate in the development of the Arab Integrity Education Network (AIEN). FUE participated in a workshop held in Sharm El-Sheikh on 28-30 October, 2011 by the Arab Integrity Education Group AIEG.
AIEG has declared the establishment of the Arab Integrity Education Network (AIEN) as a nucleus for supporting ethics and integrity practices and for fighting all forms of corruption in the Arab World. The agreement was signed by over 20 universities across the region. FUE has signed the agreement in full support of the efforts of the AIEG.
AIEG has unanimously spessed the need to diagnose the phenomenon of corruption and analyse all factors enhancing or holding back application of the values and practices of integrity. AIEG has also affirmed that some major obstacles to adopting policies and spategies on integrity are related to the Arab culture, paditions, and history; legal frameworks and organizational spuctures; as well as the systems and performance of the media. It has also agreed on setting an action plan to promote the cultures of integrity and fighting corruption, starting from Arab universities as they take the lead in societal, cultural, and ethical changes and advancement of civilizations; and because Arab universities can shape the future of the Arab World.
Professor Salwa M. Thabet and Professor Abdulmonem M. Al-Mashat represented FUE at the signing.
FUE will work in cooperation and good faith with AIEG and all signatories of the Network to promote a corruption free society that promotes prosperity and equality across the region.
