Faculty of Engineering and Technology held a seminar on October 9, 2017 presenting:
“The Third Road in Architecture: Between Globalization and the Constraints of Place”

The purpose of the seminar was to present the book and address various issues such as:
• Does our architecture truly reflect Egypt’s ancient civilization, culture and identity?
• Does our current architecture observe our environmental and natural conditions?
• How can an architect strike a balance between maintaining identity and living up to the standards of globalization with all its contradictions?
• What is the expected role of the architect today?
• To what extent is an architect expected to commit to the requirements of the profession providing solutions to problems irrespective of personal interests?
• Do we have an identity problem? And where do we go from here?
The seminar was well-attended faculty members, staff and support staff.
