Reinforcing Future University in Egypt’s (FUE) commitment to community service and promoting public health, the Faculty of Oral & Dental Medicine participated in a medical and health awareness convoy organized in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmacy on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at El-Husseiniya Center, Sharkia Governorate.
Extending Healthcare & Dental Services to the Community
The initiative reflects the University's vision of extending its healthcare services beyond campus boundaries and ensuring that essential medical and preventive care reaches different segments of the community. Through the active participation of its faculties, Future University in Egypt continues to support community well-being by providing free medical services, raising health awareness, and encouraging preventive healthcare practices.
As part of the convoy, the Faculty of Oral & Dental Medicine contributed to providing free dental examinations and healthcare services to local residents, giving beneficiaries the opportunity to receive professional dental assessments and guidance on maintaining good oral health. The participating team also delivered oral health awareness activities, emphasizing the importance of regular dental check-ups, proper brushing techniques, maintaining good oral hygiene, and adopting healthy daily habits to prevent common dental problems.
The participation of the Faculty of Oral & Dental Medicine complemented the medical and awareness services provided by the Faculty of Pharmacy, creating a comprehensive community healthcare initiative that addressed multiple aspects of public health.
Comprehensive Medical Screening & Public Health Awareness
The Faculty of Pharmacy's participation included 35 students from different academic levels, accompanied by three faculty members and two teaching assistants, under the supervision of the Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development and under the patronage of Member of Parliament Mr. Mostafa Fathy Omar.
Throughout the convoy, a variety of free healthcare and medical screening services were provided to local residents. These included blood glucose and blood pressure measurements for approximately 300 beneficiaries, in addition to specialized screening for Hepatitis B and C. Awareness campaigns also addressed general health, personal hygiene, the harmful effects of smoking, and the risks associated with unhealthy dietary habits.
The collaboration between the two faculties highlights the importance of an integrated approach to healthcare, recognizing that promoting community health requires attention to different medical specialties, early detection, disease prevention, and continuous public awareness. By combining dental healthcare with general medical screening and health education, the initiative aimed to provide residents with valuable healthcare services while encouraging healthier lifestyles.
Furthermore, the convoy offered students from both faculties a valuable opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in real-life settings, interact directly with community members, and develop a deeper understanding of their professional responsibilities. Such experiences reinforce the role of future healthcare professionals not only in treating diseases but also in promoting healthier communities.
Future University in Egypt continues to strengthen its community engagement efforts through initiatives that reflect its commitment to improving public health and supporting sustainable community development. Through the participation of its different faculties in medical convoys and awareness campaigns, the University remains dedicated to making healthcare more accessible, spreading health knowledge, and creating a positive impact on society.
