Future University in Egypt Organized the Opening Session of the Model Egyptian Parliament Through the “Wa3y” Event

Future University in Egypt organized the official opening session of the Model Egyptian Parliament (MEP) through the “Wa3y” event, held under the academic supervision of Professor Hassan Wageih and the patronage of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, represented by its Acting Dean, Professor Hany El-Shamy. The event took place in the university theatre on November 19, 2025, from 12 PM to 2 PM, and was attended by FEPS faculty members along with approximately 117 students.

Students began entering the theatre around fifteen minutes before the start of the event. Upon arrival, MEP organizers instructed each attendee to scan a QR code granting access to a WhatsApp group titled “Wa3y,” which was used to record attendance and communicate future MEP announcements.

The session officially began at 12 PM with an opening speech by Professor Hassan Wageih, followed by remarks from MEP Founder Emmanuel Sherif and Co-Founder Passant Mohammed, in addition to introducing the organizing team. This introductory segment lasted around thirty minutes before the beginning of the main academic program.

Jomana Tamer, Head of the Academics Department at MEP, opened the program by defining political consciousness, explaining its importance, and presenting a brief overview of its historical development in Egypt. She was followed by MEP Instructor Malak Ahmed, who explained different political systems. Additional insights on Egyptian politics and the economy were provided by Professor Hassan Wageih and Professor Abeer Rashdan. Instructor Jana Ragaei then discussed the branches of government, focusing on Egypt’s bicameral parliament. The academic segment concluded with a presentation on political parties and the right-left political spectrum by Jomana Tamer.

An open discussion followed, during which several students expressed their views and questions. MEP Founder Emmanuel Sherif encouraged students to raise their awareness of the House of Representatives election. Professor Hassan Wageih delivered the closing remarks, and the event concluded at 2 PM, followed by a group photoshoot.

Across the two-hour session, the speakers covered essential topics related to social and political awareness. Nearly 120 students attended, including many from outside the faculty, and the majority stated that the event was informative, engaging, and academically enriching.

In conclusion, Future University in Egypt reaffirms its commitment to providing an interactive educational environment that enables students to develop their academic and leadership skills while enhancing their social and political awareness through practical activities and distinguished student initiatives.
