In line with Future University in Egypt’s (FUE) vision and strategic commitment to community service, promoting public health, and extending healthcare services beyond the university campus, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized a medical and health awareness convoy on Thursday, October 22, 2026, to El-Husseiniya Center, Sharkia Governorate.
The initiative reflects the University's ongoing efforts to actively contribute to improving community health and well-being by raising health awareness, encouraging preventive healthcare practices, and making essential health services more accessible to different segments of society. Through such initiatives, Future University in Egypt seeks to strengthen the connection between academic knowledge and practical community engagement, while encouraging students to take an active role in addressing public health challenges.
Convoy Participation & Medical Screenings
The convoy brought together 35 students from different academic levels at the Faculty of Pharmacy, accompanied by three faculty members and two teaching assistants. The initiative was conducted under the supervision of the Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development and under the patronage of Member of Parliament Mr. Mostafa Fathy Omar.
As part of its community outreach activities, the convoy provided a variety of healthcare services and medical screenings to residents. These included blood glucose and blood pressure measurements for approximately 300 beneficiaries, in addition to specialized screening for Hepatitis B and C. These services aimed to support early detection, promote regular health check ups, and highlight the importance of preventive measures in reducing the risks of common health conditions.
Health Education & Public Health Awareness
Beyond medical screenings, the convoy placed significant emphasis on comprehensive health education and raising awareness of everyday practices that directly affect individual and community well-being. Several awareness campaigns were conducted, addressing general health, personal hygiene, the harmful effects of smoking, and the health risks associated with unhealthy dietary habits.
The awareness activities also highlighted the importance of adopting balanced lifestyles, maintaining good personal hygiene, following healthy nutritional habits, and making informed decisions regarding personal health. By addressing these topics, the initiative aimed to provide community members with practical knowledge that could help them protect their health, prevent diseases, and improve their overall quality of life.
Furthermore, the participation of Faculty of Pharmacy students provided a valuable opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in real-life community settings, develop their communication and professional skills, and understand the important role pharmacists play in promoting public health and supporting disease prevention.
Future University in Egypt continues to place community service and public health among its key priorities, recognizing that the role of higher education institutions extends beyond academic learning and research. Through medical convoys, awareness campaigns, and community outreach initiatives, the University remains committed to spreading health awareness, supporting disease prevention, encouraging healthier lifestyles, and contributing to the development of a more informed and healthier society. These initiatives reaffirm Future University in Egypt’s dedication to creating a positive and sustainable impact on society, while empowering its students to become responsible professionals who actively contribute to the well-being of their communities.
