Future University in Egypt Pharmacy Students Participate in Future Fighters Against AMR - One Health 2026

Future University in Egypt (FUE), through its Faculty of Pharmacy, proudly highlights its students’ participation in the second edition of Future Fighters Against AMR One Health 2026, a five-day training programme dedicated to addressing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through the One Health approach.

The programme took place from August 31 to September 4, 2026, under the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and ReAct Africa.

Advancing Knowledge of Antimicrobial Resistance Through the One Health Approach

Throughout the programme, participating students explored the complex challenges of antimicrobial resistance and its impact on human, animal, and environmental health.

The training highlighted the importance of responsible antimicrobial use, effective preventive measures, and the essential role of pharmacists and veterinarians in promoting antimicrobial stewardship and combating AMR.

By introducing students to the interconnected dimensions of public health, the programme reinforced the importance of a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to addressing one of the most pressing global health challenges.

Developing Future Leaders in Public Health

Beyond scientific knowledge, the training programme focused on strengthening students’ leadership, communication, advocacy, and policy engagement skills.

These competencies are essential for empowering young professionals to contribute to public health initiatives and raise awareness of antimicrobial resistance within their communities.

Through interactive sessions, case studies, group activities, campaign design, and practical exercises, participants gained hands-on experience in developing SMART objectives, establishing partnerships, preparing logical frameworks, and designing action plans for sustainable One Health initiatives addressing AMR.

This practical learning experience enabled students to connect scientific knowledge with real-world applications, preparing them to take a more active role in promoting responsible antimicrobial use and supporting public health awareness efforts.

FUE’s Commitment to Pharmacy Education and Public Health

The participation of Future University in Egypt’s Faculty of Pharmacy students in Future Fighters Against AMR - One Health 2026 reflects the university’s commitment to providing meaningful learning opportunities that extend beyond the classroom.

By encouraging participation in specialised training programmes and international health initiatives, FUE continues to support the development of knowledgeable, skilled, and socially responsible pharmacy graduates.

The experience also highlights the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in tackling global health challenges and reinforces the role of future pharmacists in advancing public health and contributing to sustainable healthcare solutions.
