Future University in Egypt and King’s College London Celebrate Graduates of the Capacity Building Program in Clinical Research and Medicine Development

Future University in Egypt (FUE), in collaboration with King’s College London, proudly hosted a distinguished Graduation and Certificate Award Ceremony for participants of the Capacity Building Program for Enhancing Clinical Research and Medicine Development in Egypt. The program was delivered through three intensive modules held in January, May, and September 2025.

This prestigious initiative was implemented through a strategic partnership between King’s College London (KCL), Future University in Egypt (FUE), and the Middle East Association of Pharmaceutical Medicine Professionals (MEAPP), with support from the British Council’s Going Global Partnerships program.

The ceremony commenced with a welcome address and an overview of the program agenda, followed by the Egyptian national anthem and a short introductory presentation. Opening remarks were delivered by Prof. Ebada Sarhan, President of Future University in Egypt, who emphasized the importance of international academic collaboration and highlighted the shared achievements of all partners involved.

Prof. Stuart Jones, Director of the Centre for Pharmaceutical Medicine Research at King’s College London, reflected on the impact of the collaboration and the professional journey of the graduates, affirming that the high quality of participants stands as a clear testament to the program’s excellence.

Addressing the audience, Dr. Tamer El-Hossieny, Vice Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, highlighted the vital role of regulatory support in advancing pharmaceutical education. He emphasized that the program represents a key step toward promoting applied research in drug development and reaffirmed that investing in human capital is essential for building a strong and sustainable healthcare system.

Representing the British Council, Mr. Ibrahim Mohamed acknowledged the strength of UK–Egypt higher education collaboration and praised FUE’s advanced facilities, noting that they position the University as a distinguished academic partner.

Additional reflections were shared by Prof. Hanan Refaat, Dean of International Affairs at FUE, who highlighted the collaborative journey between FUE, King’s College London, and MEAPP, and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to expanding global academic and research partnerships. Dr. Assem El Baghdady, President of MEAPP, presented the program’s impact, achievements, and future vision.

The ceremony also featured insights from module leaders, the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, trophy presentations, and inspiring testimonials from program graduates. The event concluded with closing remarks by Prof. Azza Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, who emphasized the importance of sustainability and the expansion of future collaborative programs.

This milestone event underscored a shared commitment to innovation, capacity building, and empowering the next generation of pharmaceutical and clinical research professionals in Egypt.
