Ceramics offer desirable alternatives to metals as dental restorative material due to their aesthetic qualities, durability, and biocompatibility. Computer aided design and manufacture (CAD/CAM) is an exciting development that has revolutionized the way that general dentistry is performed. It is essential to Clinicians, graduate dental students who are competent to assess the dental needs of their patients and to institute the use of CAD/CAM restorations where appropriate. Combined with imaging and CAD/CAM technology all-ceramic restorations are the fastest growing segment in the dental industry. Every day clinicians are successfully implementing the use of CAD/CAM in their practices. This course is intended to provide an in-depth review of the concepts involved in treatment planning these cases for ceramics, preparing teeth for all-ceramic restorations, using specific burs that are ideal for these cases. The course will provide you with fundamental concepts with CAD/CAM based on best practices of ceramics so that you can add this to your practice.
This course will also discuss the evidence about the success rates for these restorations and look at cost alternatives so you can viably integrate CAD/CAM technology into your practice.
