International Clinical Rotation Experience at Saint John Fisher College, USA
The School of Pharmacy, Saint John Fisher College and the faculty of Pharmaceutical sciences at Future University in Egypt (FUE) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in 2017. Few days after sinning the MOU St. John Fisher College hosted Mekheil Zakaria, a 4th level Pharmacy student at FUE to explore the International Clinical Rotation Experience from August 21 to September 18, 2017.
The four-week clinical rounds were led by Prof. Christine R. Birnie, Dean of School of Pharmacy at St. John Fisher College and supervised by staff members in the University of Rochester Medical Center. Mekheil experienced the pharmacist roles in the pharmacy department, internal medicine, critical care, emergency department, operating room, non-sterile compounding, pediatrics, cancer center, IV room and palliative care.
Mekheil also spent several days at the college campus, meeting students and attending a few classes in the Pharm.D. program. He participated in a Student Professional Development Program and attended several student focused events during his visit.
