Dr. Mostafa El-Sayed is the Julius Brown Chair and Regents' Professor and Director of the Laser Dynamics Laboratory at Georgia Institute of Technology. He was awarded the 2007 U.S. National Medal of Science by US President for both his research and his humanitarian efforts of scientific exchange among other countries. Born in Gharbia, Florida State University (1959), and Ain Shams University graduate. Awards: King Faisal International Prize, Irving Langmuir Award, more. Professor El-Sayed was an Alexander von Humboldt Senior Fellow, Germany (1982), a Visiting Professor at the University of Paris, an Alfred P. Sloan as well as a Guggenheim Foundation Fellow, a Fairchild Fellow at the California Institute of Technology and a Miller Visiting Professor at U.C. Berkley.

Dr. Roger W. Jelliffe, founded the USC Laboratory of Applied Pharmacokinetics. He developed the first software for individualizing drug dosage regimens in 1967, and for estimating creatinine clearance in unstable patients. His laboratory developed what is now the USC Bestdose software for individualizing drug dosage regimens specifically with maximum precision, including different Bayesian methods for modeling individual patients invarious clinical situations.

Dr. Hans E. Junginger appointed in 1981 as Full Professor at the Leiden Academic Center for Drug Research at Leiden University in The Netherlands. After his retirement in 2004 he was Visiting Professor in Thailand and in other countries. His main research areas were Mucosal Barrier Modulation and Drug Absorption Control including Peroral Peptide and Mucosal Vaccine Delivery, and Skin Barrier Modulation and Drug Absorption Control.

Dr. Linda A. Felton, Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the College of Pharmacy at the University of New Mexico. She holds a B.S. in Pharmacy and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics. Her research interests are focused on polymeric film coating technology and modified release systems.

Dr. Stephen Byrne Chair of Clinical Pharmacy Practice and Head of the School of Pharmacy since 2013. Stephen graduated from the University of Sunderland in 1996 with degree in Pharmacy, before embarking on his clinical training in Scotland. In 2002 he graduated from the School of Pharmacy, Trinity College Dublin having completed his PhD in the area of non physician management of oral anticoagulant therapy and he was the first person in Ireland to undertake a PhD in the field of Clinical Pharmacy Practice. Among his many research achievements he is part of a UCC team that developed the STOPP/START screening tool that was first published in 2008. His research team are also working in the field of antimicrobial usage patterns and he was part of a multidisciplinary team to published the first set of antimicrobial guidelines for use in primary care in Ireland in 2011.

Dr. Kamal Sabra, professor of clinical Pharmacy at UCC and at the faculty of health science, Trinity College Dublin. He was the head of corporate pharmaceutical unit in Ireland. He was the minister of health assistant for pharmaceutical affairs. Dr. Sabra is a fellow of the pharmaceutical Society of Ireland. Past President of the European Hospital Pharmacists Association, established the largest European annual pharmaceutical congress and also the European Journal for Hospital Pharmacy. He is a Visiting Professor to a number of European, American and Middle Eastern universities. Worked in the pharmaceutical industry and held a QP status with the Irish Medicines Board. Have over 170 published papers and text book. Supervised a large number of Masters and PhD students.

Dr. Graham S. Timmins is an Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry in the College of Pharmacy at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Timmins research interests included involved studying free radicals in drug action and toxicity, in cancer causation, in innate immunity, the use of stable isotope labeled compounds for use diagnosis and treatment of infectious disease, and as taggants for counterfeit medicine detection. He has over 60 publications and holds 6 patents. He co-founded Avisa Pharma that has risen over $8 million to date, to commercialize breath test diagnostics.

Dr. Fathi Halaweish, is a professor of Chemistry at South Dakota State University, USA since 1996. Dr. Halaweish is a graduate of Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Mansoura (1976) and University of Cardiff, Wales, UK (Ph.D. 1987). Halaweish research is focused on insilico approaches of drug discovery from natural products.

Dr. Ehab Abourashed is a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University with an M.S. in Organic Chemistry (University of Tennessee) and a Ph.D. in Pharmacognosy (University of Mississippi). He is currently Associate Professor at the Chicago State University College of Pharmacy. Dr. Abourashed has diverse experience in both academia and the private sector with research interests that include isolation, structure elucidation and microbial transformation of biologically active natural products; phytochemical, environmental and biochemical analysis; and herbal medicine. Dr. Abourashed has more than 100 publications and presentations and is the co-author of one textbook. He is also a reviewer for many scientific journals and an editorial board member of the journal ‘Antioxidants’.

Dr. Ashraf Abadi, currently the Dean, and Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology, German University in Cairo. He received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Cairo University and spent several research stays in the USA, Saudi Arabia and Germany. He has a track record of eighty international publications/patents and served as a referee and editorial board member for many international organizations and scientific journals. He is also Ambassador Scientist to the Humboldt Foundation in Egypt.

Dr Abdel Aziz Saleh was graduated from the School of Pharmacy In 1962,, University of Alexandria and joined the academic staff, and obtained his PhD in 1968. In 1981, he was appointed as Professor of Pharmaceutics and as Vice Dean of the school in 1986. During these years, Dr Saleh has published more that 65 research articles. In 1989, Dr Saleh joined WHO Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office. During his work with the World Health Organization, Regional Office of the East Mediterranean, he was in charge of several technical programes dealing with health policy and public health issues.

Dr. Brendan Griffin, Completed his BSc. Pharmacy (1997) and PhD in Pharmaceutics (2001) at the School of Pharmacy in Trinity College Dublin. After working in pharmaceutical industry for a number of years, he returned to academia to the newly established School of Pharmacy at University College Cork (2005). He is currently Senior lecturer, and Course Director of the MSc in Pharmaceutical Technology and Quality Systems. Dr. Griffin research interests focus on the development of optimized and targeted drug delivery systems.

Dr. José Miguel Rubio got his PhD in 1992 at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where he also did his studies on Biological Sciences. Since 2007, he is Head of the Malaria & Emerging Parasitic Diseases Laboratory in the National Microbiology Center, Instituto de Salud Carlos III in Madrid, Spain. He was previously a researcher at the same institution since 1998, and before that the had several postdoctoral stays at the University of Norwich (UK), University La Sapienza in Rome (Italy), Institute of Molecular Biology in Crete (Greece) and Wageningen Agricultural University (Netherlands).

Dr. Joerg D. Hoheisel, heads a division at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). Simultaneously, he is chairman of the DKFZ Scientific Council. Before 1993, he worked at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London, UK. Previous to this, he did his studies and PhD in biology at Constance University, Germany. Dr Hoheisel have 314 scientific publications; an additional 94 papers were published by members of the division without my co-authorship. 226 invited lectures at conferences. Inventor or co-inventor on 34 patents or patent applications; another 8 patents were filed by members of the division.

Dr. Stefan Oswald, received his master in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Humboldt University Berlin, in 2001. he worked for two years in the pharmaceutical industry and different pharmacies. From 2004-2007 he completed his PhD thesis at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology, Greifswald, Germany. From 07/2007 – 01/2012 he worked as a postdoctorial fellow at the same department. From 01/2012 – 06/2012 he was a visiting scholar at Pfizer Inc., Groton, CT, USA and at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA, USA. He was appointed in 11/2012 as professor of “Clinical Pharmacology of Transporter Proteins” at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at the Center of Drug Absorption and Transport (C_DAT). His research interests are focused on intestinal metabolism and transport bioanalytics.

Dr. Mohamed A. Farag, specialized in plant metabolomics, Dr. Farag completed his PhD at Texas Tech University, USA. In 2005, after working at The Noble Foundation USA, he became a lecturer in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo Univ. Since 2009, Dr. Farag has been working as a visiting professor at the Technical Univ. Munich, Germany and in 2010 he received the Alexander von Humboldt fellowship.

Dr. Hussein Ammar, Holder of the First Class Golden Medal for Sciences and Arts and the recipient of the 2010 Appreciation State Prize in the realm of Advanced Technological Sciences. Professor Ammar is currently the Chairman, Pharmaceutical Technology Department, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Industries, FUE in Egypt; formerly, Dean of Pharmacy, National Research Centre, Cairo, Egypt. He has more than 112 research papers published in international scientific journals. These research papers cover most of the areas related to pharmaceutics, biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics. Nanotechnology-based design of new drug delivery systems is not beyond the scope of his interest.

Dr. Hussein El-Subbagh, Chairman & Professor of Medicinal Chemistry, Mansoura University, Egypt. In 1988 he gained his Ph.D. from University of Rhode Island, USA and University of Mansoura, Egypt. In 1996, he was awarded “Alexander von Humboldt” fellowship at University of Bonn, Germany. "Shoman Award" for the Young Arab Scientists in Chemistry in 1994; “State Prize for Encouragement of Science” in 1997; "Waleed Kayali Prize for Scientific Research" in 2008; FUE outstanding research award, 2012. He is on the list of expertise of EACEA, European Commission. His scientific production is reported in more than 100 publications and ten US & European patents. His “h-Index” reached 18 according to “SCOPUS” data base evaluation system.

Dr. Tamer Essam has been graduated from Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University at the year 2002. He got his PhD from Lund University, Sweden in the field of Biotechnology at the year 2006. Dr. Tamer is currently, an assistant professor at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology and the director of the Biotechnology Centre, Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University. He is also the head of the Biotechnology and life sciences Department, Faculty of Postgraduate Studies for Advanced Sciences, Beni Suef University.

Dr. Hans-georg Breitinger got his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, University of Duesseldorf, Germany (1993), Postdoctoral Fellow, Cornell University (1993 – 1997), Associate Professor, Deparmtent of Biochemistry, University of Erlangen (1997 – 2004), Professor of Biochemistry, The German University in Cairo since 2004. He is currently Vice Dean for Acadermic Affairs of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology. His research interest focused in the area of Neurobiochemistry / Neurobiophysics , Neuronal ion channels , Patch-clamp studies, Ion channel kinetics, Mechanisms of activation and inhibiton of ion channels Isolation of novel pharmaceuticals from marine extracts and medicinal plants Viroporins, hepatitis C (characterization of the p7 viral ion channel).

Dr. Adel Sakr is Board of Trustees Chair Advisor/Assistant for Graduate Studies, Research & International Affairs, Future University, Egypt, Emeritus Professor of Industrial Pharmacy &
Pharmaceutics, and Director of the Industrial Pharmacy Graduate Program at the College of
Pharmacy, University of Cincinnati Medical Center, USA. Dr. Sakr published more than 170
international research papers and presented more than 500 conference presentations, invited
presentations and/or workshops. Dr. Sakr is an elected Fellow of the American Association of
Pharmaceutical Scientists, FIP Fellow and Graduate Fellow of the University of Cincinnati. He
is the recipient of the Distinguished Faculty Achievement Award of the University of
Cincinnati, AAPS Outstanding Educator Award and Research Achievement Award in
Manufacturing Science and Engineering.

Dr. Mina Tadros, Associate professor of Pharmaceutics and Industrial pharmacy, Head of
Drug Manufacture Unit, Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University. Dr. Mina delivered many
undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Cairo University, MIU, MSA and FUE. He joined
forty international conferences, workshops and training programs. He owns two patents and acts
as a peer reviewer in fourteen international journals where he published many manuscripts
dealing with novel nano-drug delivery systems.

Dr Rania Salama is an Associate Lecturer in Pharmaceutics at the Faculty of Pharmacy,
University of Sydney. Her research expertise is in inhalation medicine, with a specific interest
in controlled release formulations, in vitro/in vivo methodologies and correlations. To date,
Rania has published 20 research articles and conference proceedings, including 6 peer review
articles since 2007.

Dr. Nasser Saad, associate professor of pharmaceutical chemistry, Future University,
Egypt. 2011-2014 He was acting head of Pharmaceutical chemistry department, Ain Shams
University. Post-doctor in Hoshi University, Tokyo, Japan. His scientific interests focused
on using molecular modeling for development of anti-HCV, anti-tumor, anti-hypertension,
hypnotics, and anti-malarial agents. His scientific production is reported in more than 25

Dr. Khairia Youssef, Professor of Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry supervised many
researchers and teaching assistants. Professor Youssef published more than 60 publications
into National and International Journals in the field of Drug Synthesis.The most recent
papers were published between years 2007-2014 while Professor Youssef has been worked
at FUE. From time of graduation till now Dr. Khairia taught different undergraduate and
post-graduate courses.

Dr. Mohamed Gomaa is an associate professor of medicinal chemistry, faculty of
pharmacy Suez Canal University. He did his PhD in drug design and synthesis (Cardiff
University, UK). Mohamed’s work attracted fund from cancer research UK and Egyptian

Dr. Medhat Al-Ghobashy, leader of the Bioanalysis Research Group, Faculty of
Pharmacy, Cairo University has a solid background in the field of biopharmaceutical
product development and evaluation. He is currently involved in several research projects in
collaboration with industry covering the development and characterization of nanoformulations
for biotechnology-derived drugs. He is also an active member of the National
Committee of Pure & Applied Sciences (ASRT) representing Egypt at the IUPAC.

Dr. Hesham El-Askary, Professor of Phytochemistry and Medicinal Plants, Faculty of
Pharmacy, Cairo University, previous vice-dean in 3 different faculties of pharmacy in Egypt.
Dr. El-Askary got his Ph.D. from Marburg/Germany in 1994. He was a consultant for several
pharmaceutical companies, for the Supreme Council of Universities and for the Ministry of
Health and Population (as a member in the Technical Committee for drug registration and in
the Scientific Committee for herbal and dietary supplements). He has several national and
international projects and publications.

Dr. Mohy Hafez, Head of the Division of medicines and board member of the Chamber of
the pharmaceutical industry, medical supplies, nutritional supplements and cosmetics, He is
also President of the Export Council for unconventional Industries and board member of the
Export Council for Medical Industries. In addition, he is the Chief of Division of
Pharmaceutical Industries and chairman of the Committee of Health and Medical Industries
at the investors Association and Board of Trustees of 10th of Ramadan.

Dr. Amr Saad got his Ph.D. in Epidemiology from The University of Manchester in UK in 2009.
He participated in more than 200 national and international conferences where he published many
scientific researches all of which are abstracted in the PubMed, and more than 50 posters and
countless numbers of speeches in national and international events. He is a well-known
worldwide figure in the field of Pharmacovigilance and drug safety monitoring. Currently he is
the Head of the Egyptian Pharmaceutical vigilance Center (EPVC) at the Central Administration
for Pharmaceutical Affairs (CAPA). He is also a Lecturer of clinical pharmacy at Future
University of Egypt (FUE), Misr International University (MIU), Cairo University & Ain Shams
University.

Dr. Rania Siam, chair of the Biology Department and an associate professor of microbiology
at The American University in Cairo. She holds a Microbiology and Immunology PhD from
McGill University, Montreal. Siam held several postdoctoral positions including McGill
Oncology Group, Canada, Salk Institute for Biological Studies and TSRI, USA.

Dr. Ahmad Attia, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University, obtained his
PhD from UT Southwestern, USA, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Vanderbilt
University, USA. He works on identifying novel microbial therapeutics and the development
of new biotechnological products. He was awarded the State “Dawla” Encouraging Award
(2013) in Advanced Technological Sciences.

Dr. Ramy Aziz, Assistant Professor at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology,
Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University. He earned his PhD from the University of Tennessee,
USA in 2005. His current research interests are molecular epidemiology, systems biology of
microbial pathogens, microbial and bacteriophage genomics/metagenomics, and
pharmacomicrobiomics.
