He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Central Florida. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Kentucky in 2013, having tested in the fields of international relations and comparative politics. His research focuses on dynamics related to civil-military relations, civil conflict, and democratization, and has been published in venues including the Journal of Conflict Resolution, Journal of Peace Research, Foreign Policy Analysis, and African Security Review.
