Chintamani held research positions in the following institutions; Indian Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, has undertaken projects with Observer Research Foundation, and has delivered lectures at Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies and Centre for Air Power Studies. He has undertaken research in:National Archives of the US at Washington, D.C., British National Public Record Office, London, Truman library, Independence Missouri, USA, Eisenhower Library, Abilene, Kansas, USA, Kennedy Library, Boston, Mass., USA, LBJ Library, Austin, Texas, USA, London School of Economics, London and School of Oriental and African Studies, London. Prof. Chintamani authored: Five books (one co-edited), contributed chapters to above 30 edited volumes, published more than 60 research articles in journals. His latest book is: US Approach to the Islamic World in Post-9/11 Era (New Delhi, Academic Foundation, 2009), Contributed innumerable articles to national and local dailies. In addition, he gave interviews to BBC, CBS, CNBC, CNN/IBN, DD News and several other audio-visual media
