International Conference On Middle East Strategic Landscape: 100 Years After the First World War

In collaboration with University of Central Florida, economicspoliticalscience, FUE holds its first international conference in commemoration of the First World War and Sykes-Pico Agreement. 24 scholars from United States, United Kingdom, India, and many other countries participate in the conference by presenting papers and discussions. Representatives of foreign embassies in Cairo as well as mass media attend the conference. Many students and research assistants as well as professors from other universities participate actively in the conference. The conference examines challenges confronting the Arab region and the Middle East and tried very much to present recommendations and suggestions for the sustainability of the State in both regions.

The conference also discusses international and regional terrorism -including ISIL, fanatic groups as well as internal wars- which threaten security and stability of the region. There is a debate about the necessity to move from day to day administration of public affairs to strategic management of the State. In addition, there is a recommendation that Arab States should collaborate both militarily and economically in order to be able to confront any external threat including terrorism.

There is open discussions and debates regarding the relationship between Arab States and the European Union, United States, Israel, Turkey, Iran, China and Russia.
The conference provides important materials and knowledge to Egyptian and Arab decision makers regarding both the future of the region and the sustainability of Arab States.
